On September 17, 2026, more than 50 residents of Mount Pleasant, Columbia Heights, Lanier Heights, Adams Morgan and surrounding neighborhoods came together to discuss current bike conditions around Mount Pleasant and how bike infrastructure can be made safer and more accessible.

Also in attendance were several staff from the District Department of Transportation (DDOT); members of Janeese Lewis George’s transition team; Aparna Raj; and representatives from both Councilwoman Nadaeu’s office and the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services.

The walk was organized by residents of Mount Pleasant in partnership with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) and commissioners from ANC 1A, 1C, and 1D.
