Our Asks

We advocate to close critical gaps in bike infrastructure between Mount Pleasant and adjacent neighborhoods.

North-South: extending the 15th Street NW bike lanes northbound

We need protected connections between Mt Pleasant St NW and the 15th St NW protected bike lanes, which currently end at Euclid St NW. North of Euclid, there is only a narrow and unprotected one-way bike lane.

Our Ask: Extend the two-way 15th St NW protected bike lanes north to Irving St NW, including ensuring a two-way connection to Mt Pleasant St NW.

East-West: connecting Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights

We need protected connections between Mt Pleasant St NW and Columbia Heights, including to 11th St NW, where Kenyon St protected bike lanes end. The current streets between Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights are heavily trafficked and do not feature bike lanes.

Our Ask: One-way protected bike lanes on one-way streets or a two-way protected cycletrack between Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights.

Further improvements

We campaign for further improvements to bike infrastructure around Mount Pleasant and surrounding neighborhoods. This includes making the intersections around Rabaut Park safer, to make entering and exiting Mount Pleasant safer.
